Job Summary

  • The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has financed Data.FI, a five-year global project to support the HIV and COVID-19 response. Data.FI collaborates with initiatives to increase and sustain access to high-quality data to help manage and maintain the HIV and COVID-19 epidemics.
  • Data.FI accelerates program outcomes by improving global, regional, national, and community/local in-depth analyses of HIV and COVID-19 epidemiologic and programmatic data to improve client services and achieve and sustain epidemic control.
  • Data.FI assists host country governments in improving their existing health information systems (HIS), influencing management solutions to programming shortfalls, and sustaining effect through local partner transfer.

Position Objectives

  • We’re looking for full-stack engineers to join our software engineering team, which is in charge of designing and developing numerous technology products that support health and social services.
  • They’ll collaborate with product managers and tech leads to come up with software solutions and develop client and server architecture.
  • The Full-Stack Developer will be responsible for developing services using Java and Spring Boot in a Linux environment, deploying and managing services on both AWS and Microsoft Azure, and interacting with relational data using Postgres.
  • The Senior Software Engineer will oversee the Full-Stack Developers.
  • These are full-time positions with one-year contracts that are renewed based on funding availability.

Primary Responsibilities of a Full-Stack Developers at Palladium Group

  • Participate in the creation of high-capacity information systems based on the web.
  • Evaluate current systems and keep extensive technical documentation for all developed products, such as system design documents, data dictionaries, and database design.
  • As needed, create and manage test and evaluation environments.
  • Design and run performance and security tests, as well as generate reports on these systems as needed.
  • Using Java Spring Boot, design and develop REST-based web services.
  • As appropriate, use design concepts and patterns to create enterprise-level solutions.
  • Tune web services and test their performance.
  • Unit tests should be used as needed.
  • Assist front-end developers in making use of web services.
  • Automate/script common developer tasks, and improve personal and team workflows on a regular basis.
  • Setup and configuration of infrastructure.
  • Participate in the process of code review and feedback.
  • Take a feature from conception to completion throughout the stack independently.
  • Collaborate on proposed UX/UI with teams and provide input as needed.
  • Participate in and assist the SDLC procedures throughout.

Qualifications Required

  • Relational databases, schema design, and performance analysis are all skills you’ll need.
  • Working knowledge of how to deploy solutions using containers and other cloud technologies.
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript environments, particularly react and redux state management.
  • Solid understanding of Bootstrap and related technologies for responsive web design.
  • Java’s capabilities and approaches are up to date.
  • Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring JPA, and Hibernate are all skills that you should have.
  • Concepts and experience with relational data modeling in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable programs.
  • Design patterns for RESTful web services that are opinionated have been adopted.
  • Application design based on microservices.
  • Docker and Kubernetes are examples of application containerization technologies.
  • REST, OAUTH2, and OIDC are examples of standards for system integration.
  • Working knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
  • Understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms on the server, such as LESS and SASS
  • Knowledge of Global Goods for digital health, such as DHIS, OpenMRS, and OpenHIE, will be beneficial.
