We’re looking for someone to fill the following positions:

  • Job Title: Head of Operations
  • Location: Lagos

Duties of the Head of Operations at Rigo Microfinance Bank Limited

  • Establish and review key operational risk indicators/important control standards, as well as action plans, in order to reduce the Bank’s fraud and loss exposure.
  • Support the Business in identifying areas of operational risk exposure and creating and implementing remedial action to manage the Bank’s operational risk exposure.
  • Design, produce, and maintain the Bank’s Operations Manual, as well as ensure that all operational principles, processes, and procedures are followed.
  • Reengineering business processes to increase customer service, cost effectiveness, and controls is your responsibility.
  • Ensure that all regulatory standards pertaining to banking operations are met.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation, such as user guides, is in place, and that operational enhancements are implemented to decrease operating expenses and tighten controls to improve service quality and customer service.
  • Organize the Banking Operations Division (staff and budget).
  • Account Services, Clearings, Payments, Cash Management, and Reconciliation are all part of central operations.
  • Account Services, Chargebacks & Fraud, and Reconciliation of the Bank’s debit card activity are all part of Card Operations.
  • Money Market and Derivative Products, FI Transaction Activity, and 3rd Party Funds / Investment Processing are all part of Treasury Operations.
  • Credit Operations – Loan sanction fulfillment, distribution, and administration (Retail, Business, Commercial, Corporate, and Institutional divisions), while assuring the identification and management of underlying operational risks.
  • Product management that is unique. All of our products are specifically built to handle money, deposit, and risk asset transfers.
  • Any other tasks that the MD/CEO may delegate.

Requirements

  • At all levels, a thorough understanding of banking procedures and policy principles is required.
  • The ability to translate local regulatory requirements into a detailed understanding of bank operational procedures.
  • Complete understanding of the functions of Cash Management, Account Services, Clearing, and Payment.
  • Knowledge of Treasury Operations and Electronic Banking is extensive.
  • Understanding and using best practices in all aspects of operational banking, with the ability to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Understanding of workflow, capacity planning / optimization, and process implementation from an analytical and practical standpoint.
  • Ability to spot and address problems using Risk Management approaches.
  • Ability to design and prepare the operational environment’s strategy and annual budget requirements.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership, team management, development, and mentorship are all skills that may be learned.
  • Mindset based on metrics.
  • Interpersonal and persuasive skills at a high level.
  • Relationship building, negotiating, issue resolution, and troubleshooting are all important skills to have.
  • Multitasking skills and a broad understanding of all banking processes are required to work outside of your comfort zone.
  • Ability to spot roles that need to be addressed ahead of time.
  • The applicant must be a resident of Ibeju-Lekki. Ajah, Sangotedo, Awoyaya, and Lakowe are some of the specific localities
