Job Description Instrument Deputy Supervisor at Spie Oil & Gas Services

  • Within his area of expertise, he is in charge of maintenance operations.
  • He ensures that maintenance activities under his supervision are carried out in strict conformity with the COMPANY’s current safety standards and operating procedures, as well as standard industry practice, ensuring the quality of maintenance operations performed on site by the CONTRACTOR in his field.
  • He ensures that the equipment he is in charge of is available on manufacturing locations at all times.
  • He collaborates extensively with SUPERVISOR in the transfer of skills to workers undergoing training through on-site mentoring.
  • On-the-job support for a supervisor and the ability to act as a supervisor.
  • Organizes the maintenance operations that are assigned to him on the job site.
  • Assists the planning team by providing information.
  • Specialists working under Specific Maintenance Contracts are assisted by his teams (SMC),
  • Ensures that the COMPANY’s HSE rules (especially those relating to Work Permits) are followed, as well as established operating procedures and normal industry practice, when performing maintenance operations under his supervision.
  • Manages interventions with the CMMS, checks intervention reports in the CMMS (including those relating to SMC), and creates technical reports in his specialty.
  • Monitors the operation of the utilities and equipment entrusted to his care.
  • Ensures that information is transferred appropriately through mentorship within his teams, and actively participates in this process himself.
  • Any intervention within his scope of expertise is carried out at the Supervisor’s request.
  • In the event of a system failure, he assumes command of the systems under his control until the problem is resolved.


  • Leadership ability and ownership are required.
  • HND/HNC (A-levels Plus 3 years of study) or BTS/DUT or equivalent, Higher National Diploma or Certificate
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience working on oil and gas production sites as a maintenance technician
  • A complete understanding of the equipment used in oil and gas treatment installations, as well as a basic understanding of the process of oil and gas treatment.
  • Professional specific knowledge: SAP/R3 knowledge and expertise
  • Leadership and motivational skills in multi-national teams
  • He takes pride in his work and is able to establish positive relationships with coworkers and others.
  • Physical ability to operate on offshore installations in the site’s climatic circumstances,
  • English is the working language.
  • He must have demonstrated leadership ability in small groups. When necessary, act as a supervisor.
  • He must be extremely skilled and self-sufficient in his specialty, as well as possess common sense and organizational skills.
  • Natural authority is necessary, based on his abilities and the trust he has in his teams.
